Sorry for the ranting reply, but there is still a substantial part of this player base who really enjoys the old school, historical TW, and want's to see it in playable 4K, with better campaign and UI. Soyons clairs, Total War Saga : Troy n’est pas un mauvais jeu. But if CA was to put their time, effort, and a small portion of the heaps of money they made from from WH2 and 3K and make even something low risk like Medieval 3, I think it would be a big critical and fan success, and hopefully make at least a small profit. It's just a bit sad that there isn't a bigger focus on authentic historical experiences in TW right now. Total War Saga Troy has some of the worst battle gameplay I've ever played in a Total War Game, but, it has a really awesome campaign with lots of interestin. The Fantasy/RPG hybrid titles sell very well, which is why that's all we've seen for 6 years but the game was around for 15 years before then, appealing to the history buffs, and kids who loved medieval and ancient battles, and that is where the game received it's reputation. Troy and 3K are interesting, and have much needed improvements in campaign mechanics, (although the battles and AI for troy are awful), but I get taken out of a lot of the fun of the experience by the hard RPG and Fantasy elements. I like the Warhammers, I've got about 600 hours between the two of them, but as a History PHD holder, I just really like being immersed in a historical game. The technology and hardware has progressed so much that a lot of the OG TW fans, (I've been playing since 2005), want to see another purely historical, European/Middle Eastern/Central Asian game set between 1000BC and 1700AD, with no fantasy elements.
